MLKP/ FESK guerilla İrfan Gerçek (Baran Dersim), who fell martyr on th 28th of August in Dersim, is bid farewell to immortality in İstanbul Gazi quarter with slogans such as "Comrade Irfan is Immortal" "Martyrs of Dersim are Immortal", "Martyrs are alive, Communists are fighting", "Salute to those fighting and falling in Dersim".

Along with his comrades, friends and family, many people attended in the ceremony held in Gazi Djemevi, including the organizations and parties such as Peoples' Democratic Party ( HDP ), Socialist Party of the Oppressed ( ESP ), Democratic Regions Party (DBP), Partizan, People's Front (Halk Cephesi), Democratic Alewi Associations, Suruç Families' Initiative and Saturday Mothers.

After the religious rituals of the Alewis, asking for blessings and saying the pray "Gülbeng", the comrades and friends of Irfan Gerçek as well as the representatives of some organizations made speeches.

 The introductory speech started by greeting the participants saying "Salute to all of you; to the comrades of Yeliz, Şirin and İrfan! Salute to the commander Hasan Ocak's comrades. Today, the Gazi quarter is bidding its another son farewell." And followed: "Irfan fought in Rojava against the ISIS barbarianism. His victory songs echoed in Dersim mountains. But the greatest heritage that he left us is his modestness, his labor and comradeship love. Comrades of Irfan, are you ready to be revolutionaries worthy of him? Not only in the streets and squares but also in the sense of undertaking responsibilities, of labor and modestness, are you ready to be brave as much as Irfan? (...) We do not have even a single tear on our eyes; the spark of the anger inside us will be a storm and explode in the day of victory! Those tears of pain that we keep today, will shed in the day of victory as the tears of our happiness. We will be the winners!"

On behalf of ESP, the representative emphasized that the martyrdom of Irfan Gerçek has given a message to all peoples and said "İrfan fell martyr while he was resisting. His action should be considered as the hope itself against the despair. (...) This is our oath to you that we will plant the red flag on the free mountains of Turkey and Kurdistan. Rest in piece my comrade, the flag that you left us will never fall into the ground."

On the ceremony, the message of Irfan Gerçek's cousins, who are under captivity as revolutionary prisoners, was also shared. The message was written addressing to Irfan: "By being a signal flare of the struggle and fight for this special period we pass through, you have showed the way to follow for all comrades, friends and those who fight against fascism. You have filled us and your comrades with honor and pride, by responding the struggle of Kurdish people for freedom and equality, and by being the flag of hope and revolution against the imposed pessimism and defeat. (...) From prisons to Rojava, from the mountains of Dersim to the laborer quarters, we will continue persistently to sing the song of revolution and to grow the hope."

After the speeches, the crowd marched to the Gazi cemetery under an intense blockade of the police. While entering to the cemetery, two people was detained. However against all these provocations, the crowd held a moment of silence on the tomb and afterwards, bid Irfan Gerçek farewell to immortality with applauses.
