The USA-Britain coalition defeated the Saddam regime in military terms and occupied the country. But this militarist occupation does not means that it is a political victory also. This has been understood in a very short time. The occupant troops were welcomed by resistance but not with flowers as they expected. The people of Iraq is showing that the regime can be defeated by the aggressors but this will not mean that it is a political victory.

The American imperialism, which couldn't gain victory in short time, is having difficulty on establishing a protectorate regime in Iraq. Therefore, it is now trying to put its allies into use in order to fight against the Iraqi people and break their resistance. The international anger and developing struggle within the USA, in which demands withdraw of the soldiers from Iraq, have put American imperialism into a difficult position. And, USA had announced that it needs soldiers who will fight for its interests. The Turkish bourgeoisie, who was already waiting for such development, had announced that it is willing and ready to send soldiers to Iraq, and start its preparations.

The government, president, army and, in addition, the authorized people from foreign ministry and MIT (National Intelligence Organization), those who came together at the "state summit" in August have agreed on the subject of sending troops to Iraq. The president's statement, 'do not involve me in this question', did not made any change in the essence of the matter.

Why the Turkish bourgeoisie state is desired strongly in sending troops to Iraq?

First of all, they think they would gain a certain number of economical, political and military unearned income. After the fall of the negotiations with the American imperialism because of the refusal of opening Turkish soils to the American troops in March, the Turkish state had become the object of American imperialism's anger. It was openly rebuked by the American imperialism before the world public opinion because of making its plans upside down. Therefore, the Turkish state is desiring strongly to rectify relations with its "strategic partner". And, this is the reason of its strong desire in sending troops to Iraq.

The government and capitalists think that they may get a certain number of economical opportunities by sending troops to Iraq. As a matter of fact, the future of 8.5 billion dollars of credit has been indexed to the troops who would be sent to Iraq.

They are hoping to get Turkish companies to do some subcontracting works in the American monopolies' bids, some slices from the pie and develop the commerce by sending troops to Iraq. TUSIAD (Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen Association) and TOBB (The Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Maritime Trade and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey) are considering sending troops to Iraq as "a necessity for Turkey's economical interests".

The Turkish bourgeoisie state believes that the way for KADEK's liquidation can be opened through sending troops to Iraq. The most important subject of the negotiation between USA and Turkey is the liquidation of KADEK. The faith of the Kurdish people is being putted on to the dirty negotiation table; the regretion law has already been passed from the parliament. The USA has speed up its talks on disarming the forces of KADEK in Southern Kurdistan (Iraqi Kurdistan). And in Northern Kurdistan, the state is escalating its repression and terrorist attacks against the Kurdish people. All these serve to the search of the USA imperialism on colonial "stabilization". And thus, the Turkish bourgeoisie state evaluates sending troops to Iraq as an opportunity to vanish Kurdish national question through their American masters.

By the speech of Minister of Foreign Affairs, A. Gul, the Turkish bourgeoisie have announced that charging army with a duty beyond the borders is a need and it is an obligation for Turkey to send troops to Iraq because of its strategic interests.

But, nothing is going right as the occupants and collaborators, those are strongly desiring in sending troops, hoped in Iraq. The USA and Britain have faced with a resistance which they didn't expect from Iraq. The people of Iraq is resisting. Everyday, they are organizing attacks against the occupants, and the occupant soldiers are being killed. There are material conditions to organize this struggle on nationwide and give it a anti-imperialist character against American imperialism. The resistance of the people of Iraq will also receive good reaction on the international arena. On this meaning, the answer will be given to occupants by the people who are resisting. The material conditions of turning anti-war movement into a struggle against occupation and plunder, and into an anti-imperialist struggle as a whole, are developed more than anytime.

There isn't any legitimacy of this occupation. What is legitimate is the resistance of the people of Iraq and throw of the imperialist forces and their puppets, who send troops there, out of the country. And this is what the people of Iraq is doing at the moment. All over the world and in our country, millions of workers, toilers and freedom-lovers will continue to support resistance of the people of Iraq and to damn imperialism.
