The 4th World Social Forum was organised on 16-21 January 2004 in the city of Mumbai of India. More than 100 000 people, those who are under the search of "possibility of another world", from 130 countries have continued their search for "another world" by going to the city of Mumbai.

The WSF has turned into an area of struggle against the imperialism's neoliberal attacks and the poverty and misery caused by it. Following were some of the subjects that discussed in the WSF: "Globalisation" and the national States, "Globalisation" and the Human Rights, the World Trade Organisation, Militarism, War and Peace, Political Parties and the Social Movements, Neoliberalism, the Question of Water, the Question of Hunger, the Question of Women, the Question of Child Labour and the Rights of the Children, Pollution of the Nature, Struggle against AIDS. Also, the imperialist war and occupation in Iraq has become an important subject of the agenda of the discussions and in the protest actions that were organised during the forum.

The main part of the masses crowding into the WSF was from different nations of India and the workers and toilers of Asia those who are experiencing the direct effects of the imperialist "globalisation", the consequences of the neoliberal attacks and are most intensively living under the poverty and misery caused by the imperialist-capitalist system. Ten thousands of people coming from many countries have conducted discussions on the frames of search for "another world" and also showed their social and political demands in the protest actions and demonstrations which were organised during the forum and, at the same time, have introduced their own cultures.

The most evidential side that came forefront in the WSF in India is the movement's deprivation from the revolutionary and socialist leadership. The search of the important part of the participating masses on what sort of other world, their demonstrations and debates that forcing and trying to overcome the attitudes of the WSF leadership, who want to pacify the movement and keep it in the borders of the capitalist world, have disturbed the leadership of the WSF and all other pacifists. Although the leadership of the WSF has taken decisions in the saloon meetings and in line of their pacifist attitudes, the anti-imperialist demand and desire to struggle was the essential thing in the massive demonstrations organised outside the saloons. Therefore, they did not mobilise people to participate in the demonstration that was organised on the last day. They, even, did not announce the time and venue of the demonstration to the public until the last day. What is being understood is, that in Mumbai, they didn't want to experience the thing experienced by the organisers of the European Social Forum in Paris where there was militant and massive demonstration, the organisers were not able to cope with and which surprised them, and we must also say that they have partly succeeded in that. The organisers, scaring from movement to be radical and turn into a resistance movement against the imperialist globalisation, have agreed to organise next WSF again in Porto Alegre for next year.

And the Mumbai Resistance 2004 (MR 2004), who criticised the WSF line as being liberal and pacifist and tried to take much clear anti-imperialist attitude, was not able to become a real alternative. The MR 2004, which was organised in an area just across the WSF, had avoid to take open stance against the WSF and introduced itself more like a parallel activity. However, despite to their activities in order to expose the WSF leadership, the influence of other organisations those who had taken much open and clear stance against the WSF was very limited because of organising their activities faraway from the WSF and because of not choosing the way of mobilising their masses to involve in the WSF and try to influence ten thousands of people who came there.

In the special issue published for WSF, MLCP has stated that the understanding of "another world is possible", which introduced by the leadership of the WSF, aims to re-tie the millions of people worldwide to the reformed capitalist system by influencing them and by reforming the imperialist-capitalism, the bourgeois system. It also stated that it does not destroy the misery, exploitation, plunder and repression experienced by the mankind.

MLCP has tried to carry to the WSF the consciousness of the mankind's sole liberation can be possible by overthrow of existing capitalist system and construction of socialism and, therefore, socialism is the only alternative for the ones who are in the search for another world.

In another statement that was distributed on the imperialist aggression and occupation in the Middle-East and Iraq, MLCP said that it is possible to stop imperialist aggression and occupation by increasing the resistance in Iraq and spreading it to the world. It also said that the faiths of the peoples of the Middle-East have become same and, in the period where revolutionary opportunities, dynamics and conditions are developing, it counts raising the slogan of the "Democratic Middle-East Federation", which will be the product of peoples revolutionary will and fight against the mongers of imperialist will and colonial regime, as an historical and political task.
