In the last month three female political prisoners, who had been arrested in Ankara Ulucanlar Prison, were transferred to Sincan Women` s Prison.
In Sincan prison torture, the arrestment in isolation cells as a form of punishment, the denial of "contact" among each other, searching the prisoners by using force on the way to court and back, forcing the prisoners to listen to extremely loud music, the arbitrary change of shopping and visiting days in prison and the arbitrary restriction of the right to see visitors and lawyers are continued. The prisoners still face the violation and restriction of their right of defense.
One female prisoner had to face five days of torture while being held in an isolation cell. Although she became very sick, she was refused to taken to hospital.
On 15 August, the visitors of the prisoners organized a press statement in the Ankara branch of the Human Rights Association IHD where they told the publicity about the ongoing in Ankara Sincan Prison.
Two female prisoners of ESP (Socialist Platform of the Oppressed) and one female prisoner of TKP/ML (Communist Party of Turkey/Marxist Leninist), arrested in Erzurum E-type prison, started a hunger strike lasting for 5 days in order to protest against the torture in Sincan prison.
