Our party MLCP has distributed leaflets informing the laboring people of the workers' district 1 Mayis in Istanbul about its activities against degeneration and the generalization of the gangs in the recent period.
In the district which has deep revolutionary traditions, the state's activities of degenerating the people and generalizing the criminal gangs in order to break the revolutionary potential and to establish its domination have increased very much.
As an area of authority war in the workers' districts, MLCP organized an intense process of activities against these gangs this year, and at the same time, realized cultural activities and worked among the masses.
In the leaflet, it was expressed that as a result of the activities realized together with the laboring people of the district, the gambling houses were closed, some people had gave up the use and the selling of drugs, many of the gangs were expulsed from the district, and those who showed enmity towards these efforts had been the target of the revolutionary violence of our party. In the leaflet where information on the acts of house-raids and punishment against the members of the gangs and usurers, it was expressed that the militants had two armed conflicts with the state forces and after opening fire to the police vehicles with machine guns, the police forces had receded.
