20 out of 23 revolutionaries who were arrested recently by the police operations in various cities are imprisoned. The revolutionaries, who were taken to the court on 12 September after being kept for four days in Vatan Anti-terror Branch in Istanbul, entered into the Heavy Penal Court in Besiktas by shouting slogans: "Socialism will liberate the world", "Down with fascist dictatorship", "All conspiracies were in vain and will be in vain" and "Long live revolution, long live socialism". The revolutionaries, who were brought to court at 11am, welcomed with a slogan "You are not strong to defeat us", shouted by 200 people, including the families, ESP and Atilim newspaper workers, Ozgur Radio workers, Solidarity Platform with Imprisoned Journalists ( TDGP ) and representatives from many other democratic mass organisations and revolutionary circles. Later, the people organised a press statement in Besiktas Park, near to the court building. In the press meeting, an ESP (Socialist Platform of the Oppressed) speaker said: "The new Anti-terror Law is being put in practice by targeting whole society, its oppositional and fighting elements. This development, which happened during the anniversary of 12 September fascist coup, is similar to the 12 September and shows that the coup continues in different forms with its political content." In the speech made on behalf of Atilim Newspaper, it was said: "This attack is also against the socialist ideology. Socialist press cannot be put in silence. Socialist ideals and revolutionary goals cannot be destroyed with these attacks." The representative of TDGP, Ozgur Radio Chief Director and the families of the revolutionaries under detention has also spoke in the action, which was ended with slogans: "Revolution is the only way" and "Long live revolution and socialism". The people then continued to wait near to the court building until the end of the trial. On the other hand, those 23 revolutionaries refused to give statement to the prosecutor and the judge because of not having enough information about their detention. In the trial, which was ended very late in the evening, 3 revolutionaries are released, 20 of them imprisoned, including Ibrahim Cicek, Chief Editor of Atilim Newspaper, Sedat Senoglu, Chief Coordinator of Atilim Newspaper, Ziya Ulusoy, former Chief Editor, Bayram Namaz, one of the newspaper's writers and Fusun Erdogan, the Chief Coordinator of Ozgur Radio.
