On 5 October, the Central Office of Tekstil-Sen Union have protested the police raid against the socialist institutions, including the Tekstil-Sen Union, by organising a press meeting under the banner writing "Imprisoned unionists must be released, TMY must be abolished".
The meeting was also supported by the Belediye-Is No 2 Union and the Organising Expert of the Limter-Is union, Kamber Saygili.
The representative of Tekstil-Sen have demanded the release of their General President Ayse Yumli Yeter and their General Secretary Sevim Olcmez, and stated that they will continue to struggle in the line of class-unionism.
The action was ended with the following slogans: "Our General Secretary, Sevim Olcmez, must be released", "Our General President, Ayse Yumli Yeter, must be released" and "Repressions and imprisonments cannot intimidate us".
