High school students affiliated to SGD (Socialist Youth Association) made a street action on 28 December in Kadikoy/Istanbul in order to protest the recent problems in the high schools.
They expressed their protest against the project of the Ministry of National Education for preventing violence in the high schools, stating that the real responsible of the acts of violence in the schools is Minister Huseyin Celik. This project was raised after the great increase in the acts of violence and the number of gangs in the schools. While the state is the principal responsible of the generalization of degeneration and the use of drugs, the increase of the school-gangs as a result of the chauvinist-gangs-and-lynch-culture and the increase of the number of battles and crimes in the schools; the Ministry of National Education targets the students in this project. According to the project, the students who are involved in such acts will go to the Open High Schools. This means they will be left out of the institutions of education and thrown into unemployment and gangs.
The students also protested the cases of sexual abuse and violation in Hasan Ali Yucel School in Tunceli.
The police attacked to the action and took 7 of the protestors under custody.
