The protest actions against solitary confinement are going on in the districts of the labouring people. In the evening of January 17, the opponents of isolation organised demonstration in the districts of Istanbul 1 Mayis and Okmeydani. In Okmeydani, 500 people participated in the demonstration and in 1 Mayis, the police attacked the protest. The revolutionaries resisted against the attack and it came to conflicts between the revolutionaries and the police, including also the side streets. The revolutionaries shouted slogans against the solitary confinement and responded with Molotov cocktails, stones and catapults to the rain of gas bombs of the police.
The militants of MLCP participated also in the conflict and shouted slogans like "long live our party MLCP" and "We will defeat the isolation terror".
The protest actions against solitary confinement will continue to take place every Saturday at 4 p.m. at Istanbul/Taksim.
