As a result of the six-year-long struggle, the fascist Turkish state made a step-back on the issue of the F-Type isolation prisons which were put in force by a simultaneous operation against 20 prisons on 19 December 2000 , where 28 revolutionary prisoners were killed. In face of this step-back of the state, Lawyer Behic Asci, Gulcan Goruroglu and Sevgi Saymaz, who were on a death fast for more than 200 days against isolation, finished their actions.
In the struggle against F-type isolation which continued at the cost of 124 martyrs, Lawyer Behic Asci, Gulcan Goruroglu and Sevgi Saymaz were getting closer to the 300th day in their death fast while the anti-isolation platforms in many cities had increased their actions, the line of united resistance that was started against the state's attacks, increasing especially since September, had shown itself also in the struggle against isolation, the interest of the progressive and democrat intellectuals and organisations in this issue had increased and the censor and silence was broken.
As a result of this, the Ministry of Justice made a decree on 22 january declaring that "maximum 10 prisoners for each can come together and speak with each other 10 hours a week". This decree includes the unconditional use of the right to come together, which was dependent on the acceptance of state's conditions by the revolutionary prisoners and represents a step-back in the isolation policy of the state.
Asci, Goruroglu and Saymaz finished their action after this and began to be treated.
