On the anniversary of the occupation in Iraq, imperialist aggression, war and occupation was protested in Istanbul, Adana, Ankara, Bursa, Sivas, Eskisehir and Kocaeli through actions.
The Socialist Platform of the Oppressed made a street action in Istanbul/Kadikoy on 18 March under the banners "The Middle East will be a grave for the USA!" and "Yankee go home!" They demanded the withdrawal of the occupation forces and condemned the imperialist aggression in the Middle East. They also called for participation at the Newroz Day Celebrations. In the statement that they made, it was expressed that the occupation troops were depressed by the resistance of the Iraqi peoples. It was stated that the collaborator Turkish state presents all kind of opportunities to USA including the use of the military bases and sending troops. They emphasised the importance of the united anti-imperialist struggle in the statement and they said: "The revolutionary solution to the Middle East question is the Democratic Federation of the Middle East".
HÖC, DHP, EHP , ÇHD, TKP and some other mass organisations marched from Taksim/Istanbul to Dolmabahce on 17 March to protest the occupation. Police attacked at the column of the Student Collectives who opened a banner written "Don't enter Kirkuk! Don't shed the blood of your brothers!" In the common declaration, it was said that all the lies of USA and its collaborators have already been exposed on the 4th anniversary of the occupation and the occupation forces have been trapped in a blind alley.
On 20 March in the evening, the occupation was protested in Izmir, Istanbul, Kocaeli, Bursa, Ankara and Adana through actions with torches.
