Imprisonment terror against DTP (Party of Democratic Society) continues after Newroz celebrations. The fascist dictatorship increased its terror of imprisonment after the demonstrations on Newroz Day, which had been its nightmare during the month of March. Beside more than 400 people who were taken under police custody as a result of the police attacks against the demonstrations in different cities, many houses have been raided with the same pretext and tens of people have been arrested. The number of the people who have been sent to prison in Izmir, Van, Sirnak, Urfa, Amed, Batman, Manisa, Mardin, Antep, Adana, Ankara and Istanbul after the demonstrations and the house raids is more than 100. The imprisonments are based on the pretext such as that the accused "have shouted illegal slogans, they have opened illegal banners, they have called Ocalan ‘Mister'". The speeches that were made at the stages at the demonstrations were also made the pretext of various arrests. Leyla Zana, ex-deputy from DEP (Party of Democracy) who was released just a few years ago after spending 10 years in prison, and Ahmet Turk, General President of DTP, were exposed as targets. Meanwhile, a new ring was added to the chain of attacks against socialist, revolutionary and Kurdish press, with the last week's ban against the newspaper Azadiya Welat. The newspaper, which is published in Kurdish language, was banned for 20 days with the accusation that "it has provoked crime within the framework of the activities of PKK ". On the other hand, military operations in Northern Kurdistan continue at the mountains of Cudi and in Cirav, Herekol and Mava Mountains in Siirt.
