On 7 April, office workers affiliated to the trade union BES (Office Workers' Union), coming from different cities, met in Ankara under the slogan "Equal pay for equal work! We want job security!"
The labourers met in Kurtulus Parki and started a march towards the Ministry of Finance, by blocking the Ziya Gokalp Road. Near the building of SSK , the police stopped the demonstrators. The labourers protested the blockade by clapping hands, whistling and by shouting the slogan "Block the gangs, not the labourers!", When the police did not open the road, the labourers sent a delegation to the Ministry to express their demands. After the return of the delegation, they organized a press demonstration at the Sakarya Street.
