Members of the Basic Rights Federation (THF) organized a protest on May 15 at Sisli Square demanding the start of the trials and the release of those arrested on December 7. THF amd many other associations bound to it, the magazine Yürüyüs and the Cultural Centre Idil had been raided, 80 people had been arrested and 17 out of them imprisoned. The prisoners have not been taken to court until now and do not know with what they are charged.
Members of THF opened a banner at the action on which it said: "We demand the release of those imprisoned because of their struggle against degeneration". In a press statement they dcclared that the repression against their organisations continues and that a member of them, Hasibe Coban, was arrested and imprisoned under the same pretext on May 9. THF also said: "The aim is to frighten and break the will of the democratical organisations and associations and its members and activists by complots. For months, our members working in the associations have been held in f type prisons without any legal ground. Although six months have passed since then, they have not been taken to any court, this is practically nothing less the application of a verdict which is not yet outspoken." The action finished with the slogans "We will reveal and win over the comlots!" and "The repression can`t hinder us!".
