Due to the International Weeks of Struggle against Forced Disappearance, the Human Rights Association IHD , the International Committee Against Disappearances ( ICAD ) and the Association YAKAY-DER organized an "symbolic action in white for the disappeared" on May 26 in front of Galatasaray high school in Istanbul, the place, which was conquered by the Saturday Mothers after a long struggle. The mass demanded that those responsible for forced disappearances must be found and sentenced. The relatives of the forced disappeared wore white t-shirts and hold pictures of the disappeared as well as put shoes on the floor, a symbol of the disappeared. They said: "Those who are responsible for disappearances are the same as those who organized the bombing in Ankara. From Susurluk to Semdinli , we demand an account for the disappeared."
In Antakya and Izmir the ESP activists organized press statements on the International Weeks of Struggle against Forced Disappearance demanding the sentence of those responsible for disappearances and the liquidation of the counter guerilla.
In Diyarbakir, the body of Mehmet Selim Örhan, disappeared since 1994, was found. In a press conference organized at the Human Rights Association IHD on May 26, Mehmet Selim Örhan`s son said that the body of his father was found together with eight other bodies in a mass grave following the information given in a newspaper article.
