The Socialist Platform of the Oppressed ( ESP ) of Antakya organized an action on June 13 at Ulus Square protesting the putschist generals` racist declaration against the Kurdish people and the preparation work for a cross-border operation. The lynching attempts, which happened after the general staff's declaration, the announcement of "security regions" and therefore the re-launching of the "state of emergency", a new law launched giving the police unlimited rights, mean nothing else then a new wave of oppression against the social opposition and the Kurdish people. The ESP activists opened the banner "Let's join the 3rd front against fascism, chauvinism and threats of coups" and called on all workers and labourers to give their voice to the Block for Labour and Democracy, which was founded in Antakya and which ESP supports.
