The CHP (Republican People's Party), which is the number one supporter of the putschist army, has to face the labourer's furious protests.
The CHP planned to organize a rally in the quarter Mayday of Istanbul on July 13, but was chased away from the quarter after the people pelted eggs and tomatoes on them. The people of the quarter lead by the Socialist Platform of the Oppressed ( ESP ) occupied the place where the rally was to be organized and CHP deputies were going to speak with posters saying "Don't forget September 12, don't vote the putschists" and slogans "Murderer CHP, get out of our quarter", "Shoulder to shoulder against fascism" and "Our quarter Mayday is red and will stay red". When the CHP left the place and wanted to seek shelter in their election office, the people formed barricades by starting a sit in on the street and throwing again tomatoes and eggs on the cars of the CHP. Due to the protests, the CHP convoy had to leave the quarter.
The revolutionary activists of the ESP and DHP (Platform of Democratic Rights) protested with the slogans "Murderer CHP, get out of our quarter" and "We will not vote for you murderers" against the concert on July 12 organised by the CHP in the district Alibeykoy of Istanbul.
