On August 24, the Confederation of Public Workers' Unions ( KESK ) organised actions in Ankara, Istanbul and Adana after the negotiations on a labour agreement lasting for ten days got stuck. At the actions, the workers demanded their rights on strike and labour agreement. The labourer officials gathering in front of the YKM in Ankara shouted the slogans "You don't get but fight for your rights, victory will be achieved on the streets", "Long live our organised struggle" and "No charity, but labour agreement". In a statement made, they said: "We can not accept a system that is a "bargain market" and does not accept the right on labour agreement and strike, tries to hinder the application of basic unionist rights and always lets the Council of Ministers have the last word." Another action took place in Istanbul at Taksim Tram Station. Here, attention was drawn to the period of negotiations on labour agreements that got stuck. In Adana, an action was organised at Inonu Park. The protesters stressed that the government does not pay any attention to the labourer officials demanding a labour agreement. Labourer officials and members of KESK will start a march from Bakirkoy Freedom Square, Istanbul, and meet at Ankara on August 27.
