On 13th June 2004 comrade Ali Bugun, who was one of our party's fighters and worked with our International Bureau and who left behind a great life dedicated to the revolution and socialism, met our martyrs.

In 1980 our comrade Ali was one of the leading fighters in the resistance that is known as the "Resistance of Corum ". This resistance was as answer to the attacks and massacres of the civil fascist forces united with the state forces against progressives, revolutionaries and people of Alawi belief.

Comrade Ali created the first barricade resistance committee and played a leading role within the resistance. During that period, he took party duties that were of Central Committee's level and led the armed units of his party.

Comrade Ali was caught and imprisoned by the enemy in 1981. He had been in solitary confinement for 18 months. In March 1985, he was caught again by the enemy and was arrested in the prisons of Metris, Sagmalcilar, Bayrampasa and Canakkale. One month after his release he was wanted again and joined the fight in the Middle East after his party's decision in 1988. There he fulfilled duties like political education, military training and many others.

In 1989/90, after the collapse of the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe his party went through an inner discussion period. Liquidation and taking to flight from fighting increased. However, comrade Ali is one of the people who remained true to their firm belief in revolution and socialism. He looked for something new after his party dissolved. Comrade Ali observed the revolutionary movement of Turkey very carefully. Finally, he found the one most closest to his views, the fighting and dynamic party MLCP, which was founded in September 1994 by the unification of communist organizations and which has been giving hope to him and to the working class through its developed politics and fighting methods.

There did not pass much time after comrade Ali got in contact with our party when he was imprisoned in Syria in June 1996. Although he was cut off from the world outside around for a long time, he never lost his attachment and belief in our fight. While he was imprisoned he observed the party's fight and the fight in general excitedly and absolutely wanted to contribute. He learned several foreign languages. During the seven years of his imprisonment in the Middle East he has always been doing research and wrote a lot of works. As a careful observer and supporter of the Palestinian people, he analysed the history of Palestine and the Intifada and presented the results in his book "Intifada Gercegi". This book was printed in Turkish and is one of the basic sources on Intifada. He also translated the novel "KudFCs Topragi" which describes the Palestinian people's resistance together with another imprisoned comrade from Arabic to Turkish. He defended our party's line, the resistance of Palestinian and Iraqi people, the Middle East people's fight and the idea of revolution and socialism in general everywhere.

Comrade Ali organized his life in prison in a revolutionary way and therefore was a shining example that communists can be productive even under worst conditions. Led by another imprisoned comrade they created the tradition of resistance in Syrian prisons by their protests which they organized together.

Comrade Ali was released in August 2003. Taking into account his experience and skills, our party entrusted him with the task to work in the international field. Right in the middle of being happy to be united outside with the party and the struggle and enjoying doing important work, he died of the illness he got due to 14 years of imprisonment.

Comrade Ali left behind an exemplary life full of diligence, modesty, naturalness, with his conviction and determination, with a communist will to continue the fight under any condition and with an organized fight for the revolution and socialism to the last gasp.

Our party paid him his last respects in Rotterdam, Netherlands with a great ceremony, marches and fight slogans that this town has never experienced before.

We have sworn to our comrade Ali and all martyrs of our party: We will definitely put their ideals of revolution and socialism into practice.

Comrade Ali Bugun is immortal!

Long live revolution, Long live socialism!

Long live our party MLCP!
