On 17 December, while EU-Turkey talks were ongoing, members of the refugees and immigrant workers associations of AGIF, FGIF, IGIF and GIKDER gathered in front of the EU Parliament in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, and protested the Turkey's acceptance into the EU and the whole European Union. At the demo, protestors have pointed out that, as an imperialist union, the EU protects interests of the capital but not the interests of workers and labourers, and therefore, by the acceptance of Turkey into the EU, they going to realize the free movement of the capital but not the free movement of labour.

At the protest, while talks were ongoing, the protestors carried banners and placard of 'No to EU', 'Abolish all the Imperialist institutions'. The press gave high attention to the protest, and the protestors shouted slogans in different languages like the massacres in Turkey and Kurdistan', 'Free Political Prisoners', 'Imperialist forces should get out of Iraq and Palestine', and also protested the imperialist occupation.

The protest took about two hours then the protestors joined to support demands of an Armenian group, which organised a march to protest the Armenian Genocide and asked the Genocide to be recognised by the Turkish State.
