No to the conviction of the communists!

 On September 29 the Socialist Platform of the Oppressed ( ESP ) organised actions in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Adana, Antakya, Bursa and Malatya calling for participation at the trial and solidarity with the 23 communists who had been arrested and later detained in police operations from September 8-10 and who will be on trial on October 26 2007 at the 10th Heavy Penalty Court at Besiktas, Istanbul.
In Istanbul an action was organised at the Taksim Tram Station. A banner was opened on which it said "Freedom to the 10 September prisons. We demand justice" and a statement was made in which the revolt of the workers, labourers, youth and women, oppressed by the exploiting rotors, against this system was named a right and duty. It was also stressed that the struggle for freedom and justice, for another world socialism will continue.
 In Izmir ESP activists organised an action in front of Karsiyaka Is Bank. After the action they send cards to the 19 September prisoners.
In Ankara ESP activists gathered at Yuksel Street and raised the slogan "No to the conviction of the communists!". At the action they also shouted the slogan "For freedom, long live socialism!".
In Adana ESP activists opened a banner saying "Hope comes with the party, liberation with socialism". They gave information on the trial on October 26 and called for participation.
In Bursa ESP activists organised an action at Cicekciler Park and raised the slogans "No to the conviction of the communists! Mafia judges to the dock" and "You have not been strong enough and you will not be strong enough to beat us!" The action was supported by Partizan, the Tunceliler Association and Democratic Rights Platform.
In Malatya ESP activists organised an action in front of the Central Post office. They demanded freedom to the 10 September prisoners and protested against the annihilation attacks on the Kurdish people.
