12 revolutionaries have been arrested.during night raids in the quarter Mayday of Istanbul. On the evening of October 8 the two civil policemen Ali F.H. and Serkan H. were punished by the antifascist youth. After this, nearly 2000 policemen surrounded the quarter. On the morning of October 9, many houses were raided under the pretext that the IDs and the weapons of the policemen had been seized. During these raids the members of the Association for the Improvement of the quarter Mayday and ESP activists were arrested. At the same time the police raided one house in Gulsuyu and 10 houses in Beykoz Hekimbasi, but did not arrest anyone. Seven of those arrested in the aurter mayday were later imprisoned. The Association for the Improvement of the quarter Mayday organised an action on the evening of October 10 to condemn the attack and demand the immediate release of the arrested. The action was supported by the families of the arrested, ESP, Partizan, HOC and different organisations. With posters and leaflets the ESP of Umraniye, Istanbul, called on the population of the quarter to be attentive.
