The struggle of the people living in the city Harbiye, Antakya, against the purification plant continues. The purification plant that had been hidden in form of a water depot and installed in a house because of the struggle led in different cities against purification plants has been the target of big protests for several weeks now. The people of Harbiye started with their protests at the end of October when they had recognized the purification plant and also continue to lead a struggle on the legal basis to make the purification plant dismantled. Street actions continue, too. On November 18 the people marched to the council of Harbiye opening the banner read "We don't want a purification plant in our quarter" and blockaded the street. The mass shouted the slogans "Demolition of the house without license", "We don't want a purification plant" and "A single fist, a single barricade against the capital" and gathered in front of the building where the purification plant was installed. In a statement made there the following was said: "The attitude of the state institutions not respecting human health at all despite our actions and applications at court is interesting. The attitude of staying silent towards our demands shows once again reality. The institutions that must ensure the life and health of the people are not acting in the interest of the people but for the profit of some groups and telephone monopolies."
