The newspaper Yuruyus for Independence, Democracy and Socialism was banned for one month because of a news in its 135th issue with the title "They could not make her surrender" which dealt on the murder of DHKPC fighter Kevser Mizrak killed in Ankara. The newspaper`s 135th issue was also banned for sale and distribution.
The newspaper Yuruyus made a written statement on this decision on December 20. The statement with the heading "Killing is free, writing it down is forbidden!" emphasized that the freedom of press only exists with thoughts in favour of racism, fascism, reaction and imperialism. Aditionally it was said that the decision to ban the newspaper had been taken related to the policy of imperialism`s collaborators and the fascist
AKP to intimidate and silence the revolutionaries and all oppositional forces. The statement noted: "We call on all who are against oppression, tyranny and such bans, who are against the collaborator and fascist regimes: Let us raise our voice together against the one-month ban of the newspaper Yuruyus".
