Actions against the draft law Social Insurances and General Health Insurance put on the agenda by the AKP government continue.
On January 9 the Platform Health and a Safe Future to Everyone, which consists of the trade unions DISK , KESK and all Istanbul branches affiliated to Turk-Is , chambers, organisations such as the ESP , DTP , HOC and different political parties as well as platforms, organised an action in front of SSK Bakirkoy Dogumevi, Istanbul to protest against the draft.
On January 10 unions and mass organisations organised an action at Inonu Park, Adana stating that the draft law for GSS will usurp all rights and achievements of the labourers they have won so far and that inequality will increase. After the press statement the mass laid down a black wreath in front of the local office of Adana AKP.
In Izmir the Platform Health and a Safe Future to Everyone organised an action at Kemeralti on January 10. At this action, the participants also called to join the rally which will be organised around January 16, the day when the draft law will be on parliament`s agenda.
On the same day members of Limter-Is organised an action at Icmeler train station, Istanbul. In the early hours the workers shouted that they will not let the draft law pass. The draft law includes a rise in age of retirement, the cut of pensions and other cuts which means usurping the health right.
