Statement No 28

We are living the deep sadness of having lost Dr. George Habbash, the historical and mental leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the Arab National Movement. When he was a student in 1948 and 700.000 Palestinians were driven out from their homeland and made refugees, he became of the founders of the Arab National Movement against El-Akba (Big disaster). By this, he became one of the first organised and armed leaders against colonialism. After the defeat in 1967 he became one of the founders of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and contributed a lot to the ideological line. Throughout his life, he turned the whole pain of the Palestinian people into the longing for freedom in his heart and fought for the liberation of Palestine. The name of Dr. George Habbash is a symbol for the fight and determined resistance against imperialism and Zionism. With his ideas and views, he went into history as the Palestinian people's wise fighter El-Hekim.
Dr. George Habbash who dedicated his life to the freedom fight of Palestine is a loss not only for the PFLP and the Palestinian people but also for all people resisting against imperialism, Zionism and colonialism. The Palestinian people have lost a brave fighter, a strong brother.
We as the MLCP share the pain of the PFLP and the Palestinian people and promise to make comrade Dr. George Habbash live in our struggle. With the belief that the Palestinian people will definitely achieve victory, our party will always actively support the courageous Palestinian people fighting against colonialism and Zionism and creating Intifadas.

Dr. George Habbash is immortal!
The revolutionary martyrs are immortal!!
