The fascist colonial Turkish state's air raids on the regions in South Kurdistan where the PKK guerrillas are staying have continued since December 15. It is a known fact that the attacks do not only aim at the guerrillas but at the same time at the civil residences in the areas where the PKK is fighting. With these attacks with which the state completely destroys civil living areas and forces the people to move away, the state aims to freeze the relation between the guerrilla and the people and to stop the logistic support of the PKK. This time, the state wants to apply a similar concept to the one in South Kurdistan that was applied in Northern Kurdistan in the 90ies where thousands of villages were completely destroyed, millions of people forced to live their villages and thousands killed. Since 2006 it has raised hundred thousands of soldiers in Kurdistan, and has expanded its army of 150.000 soldiers at the border of South Kurdistan. The preparations at the border show that the state that did not get any results from the air raids, does not want to renounce its attacks on the overland route that it could not realise during the last months. The situation in Northern Kurdistan which is similar to state of emergency and military operations in Northern Kurdistan still continue.
The Turkish state's preparations for an operation in South Kurdistan which are supported by the masses due to the chauvinist hysteria have faced a heavy blow when the PKK guerrilla forces killed 13 soldiers in a clash at GABAR mountains and later raided the Turkish soldiers´ battalion next to the border at Daglica and killed 35 soldiers as well as took 8 soldiers hostage. These achievements of the PKK made the state and the forces supporting it wonder. They now do not believe as before that they will win the fight against the PKK with this army. They even started to talk about the need of a professional army.
Another important point on the agenda was the PKK's tactics to release the 8 soldiers taken hostage for some time with the help of the DTP MPs. When pictures were broadcasted where these soldiers had sat down at the same table as the guerrillas for supper and shook hands when leaving, they proofed that the campaign carried out against the guerrilla to denounce them is fake. The rise of the call for brotherhood by the Turkish soldiers and the weak position of the state against the guerrilla hurt the chauvinist propaganda. While on the one hand the fascist state remaining desperate is carrying out a lynching campaign against the DTP MPs together with the support of the media, it ordered the detention of the soldiers taken hostage and sent them to prison. The Turkish government's ministries announced that they were not happy about the soldiers` release and showed that for them only a dead soldier is a good soldier. And it is Ramazan Yüce, who was the only Kurdish among the soldiers taken hostage that is wanted to make the scapegoat for all that. Ramazan Yüce has been declared a "traitor to the country" and is wanted to be sentenced life-long.
The colonial fascist regime is continuing with its policy of annihilation and its persistence in practice using military force. The Turkish state's history of 85 years is full of massacres against the Kurdish people and the oppression of dozens of Kurdish people's revolts with military interference. Recently and parallel to this, the state puts more weight on its plan "with honey and the stick". The AKP government makes Islam standing out and tries to create its own Kurdish people.
With its plan named "Bridge to brotherhood", it is tried to break the Kurdish people's will using social, economical and political ways in the region. The plan aims at disciplining the Kurdish national revival with moderate Islam. Associations and foundations that have become mobilised towards Kurdistan are part of this plan. Kurdish Islamic writers and the Islamic press have ae also integrated into this plan. In the last years the number of koran courses that had been founded by state control as well as founded by Islamic associations has increased rapidly. By using religious feelings, the AKP aims at creating political hegemony on the Kurdish people. After the bomb attack on a military convoy in January 3 in Amed, first Turkish army commanders and politicians gathered at in Amed and were followed by TUSIAD (Turkish Industrialists´and Businessmen`s Association") to give fake messages of "unity". The PKK announced that this attack, in which 67 people (among them 30 soldiers) were injured and 7 civilians died, had been carried out by a unit affiliated to it but with its own initiative. Because of the death of civilians, the PKK made an excuse to the Kurdish people. While the state continues with its annihilation attacks on the one hand, it tries to cut the relation of the Kurdish people with the guerrilla and make it give up the national liberation struggle on the other hand by using religion through associations, foundations, Islamic writers and the media.
The Turkish army that hailed bombs on South Kurdistan tries to achieve results by continuing continously with operations in Northern Kurdistan. Villages in the border regions of Hakkari and Semdinli are tried to be emptied. However, these efforts will not achieve anything as happened before. Its colonial policy of denial and annihilation has failed. The Kurdish people is saying "Edi Bese" ("It`s enough") everywhere to the colonial barbary, exploitation, abasement and injustice.
