After the colonial fascist Turkish state`s occupying operations against the PKK in South Kurdistan the press centre of HPG publsihed some statements. In its statement with the title "Big defeat for the Turkish army after land operations were started" the HPG declared that the Turkish army forces had exceeded the border at Seve and Herekol in the province of Hakkari-Cukurca on February 22 and moved forwards until the region of Ciya Res, but that 22 Turkish soldiers died when the guerrilla forces realised an action against the operation. The HPG announced that air raids have also continued, but that no guerrila died in these attacks..
On February 23, the HPG declared that the guerrila has 15 dead bodies of Turkish soldiers and that 9 soldiers were killed in a clash in Basya, 10 soldiers in the region of Samke, and that one cobra helicopter was shut down in Cemco. HPG Headquarter Commander Bahoz Erdal announced that 2 HPG guerrilas lost their life in the clashes. The Turkish general staff instead declared that 79 guerrilas and 7 soldiers were killed in the clashes.
The HPG Headquarter Commandership made a statement and called on the Kurdish youth living in the metropolitans to start Serhildan s. In the statement the following was said: "We call on all Kurdish youth in the metropolitans to stand up actively against these broad attacks and do much more than what the African migrants did in Paris."
