The people of the quarter Basibuyuk of Maltepe, Istanbul are continuing with their resistance against the state's demolition attacks. The company TOKI has tried to build a construction site in the quarter that is part of the council's "project to change the city" and is facing demolition. The people of the quarter have managed to prevent this before and did not let the company enter the quarter when they came again on March 19. The police attacked the people who were resisting the company. 10 people were injured and 8 people were arrested. Because of the clashed that occurred, the construction site could not be finished and the quarter is surrounded by the police. The population of Basibuyuk stated that they will not let their houses been demolished and will resist until the end.
