Tens of thousands of people condemned the Sivas Massacre of 2 July 1993 on its 15th anniversary in front of Hotel Madimak. Relatives of 33 intellectual who were killed in Madimak Hotel , Allevite associations and organisations and various political parties joined the rally where it was demanded that Hotel Madimak should be turned into a museum, that the responsible ones for the massacre should be judged and the 2nd of July should be announced as an international commemoration day. The demonstrators carried banners written “ Corum , Maras , Gazi , Sivas. The murderer state will pay an account”, “Hotel Madımak should be turned into a museum”, “We haven’t forgotten the 2nd of July” and “Stop the repression against the Allevite belief”. PSAKD, ABKD, KESK , ESP , EMEP , DTP , Halkevleri , Partizan and many other organisations were present at the rally. They left carnations in front of Hotel Madimak in the memory of 33 people who had lost their lives. {divide}
In Istanbul, the Sivas Massacre was condemned by democratic mass organisations, trade unions and parties, among them PSAKD, TMMOB , DISK , Genel-Is, Birlesik Metal-Iş, KESK, ESP, EMEP, SDP , ODP , TKP, EHP , SODAP and DTP at Kadikoy Square. Ten thousand people who joined the rally raised the slogans “The murderer state will pay an account”, “The murderer is the clounter-guerrilla state at the Sivas Massacre”
