On July 25, TUYAB commemorated the 12 revolutionaries, who turned into martyrs during the hunger strike of 1996 at the Karacaahmet cemetery in Istanbul. The members of TUYAB carried pictures of the martyred revolutionaries and a banner saying "The martyrs of the 1996 hunger strike are immortal" and made a demonstration to the grave of our comrade Huseyin Demircioglu, who was a member of the Central Committee of our Party and turned into a martyr in this resistance.

In the speech at the commemoration act it was said that the attacks against the revolutionary prisoners are continuing today in the F-type-prisons and it underlined the task of continuing the struggle of the 12 martyrs. They renewed the oath of revolution given to the martyrs and shouted slogans like: "long live our hunger strike resistance", "Smash the cells from inside and outside" and "We paid a lot and we will make you pay".
