Of course, the fact that the trials of Ergenekon and to close the AKP became clear and that a temporally compromise has been made in the historical settling the score in the arena of the bourgeois politics does not mean that the competition and the settling of the score between the ruling classes is finished.

The competition between the Turkish ruling classes, which is continuing and turning into a regime crisis, continued last year on topics like the headscarf, change of the constitution, elections of the President of the Republic and the general elections on July 22 followed by the election of Abdullah Gul to the President of the Republic and this year it continues more on issues like the Ergenekon trial and the trial to close the AKP. After it has won the elections of July 22, the AKP, one of the sides of the regime, elected Abdullah Gul as the President of the Republic with the courage it took from this electoral success. The election of Gul was a new effort to broaden its own area of power. Last year, the generals directly opposed the AKP, however this year legal institutions like the constitutional court and the final court of appeal came more to the fore and thus the army acted in the background and tried to give the impression of o "juristic" struggle instead.
On the other hand, they are aiming at presenting the judicative in Turkey as working appropriate and independently also by the Ergenekon operation of the regime, in which more the 50 persons have been imprisoned and taken to court, among them some retired generals, military and civil bureaucrats, some representatives from the media to the capital and some leaders of racist fascist parties, all of them elements of the counter-guerrilla organisations within the state, which got out of control and have been exposed in the eyes of the public opinion and the people. This trial is also a trial to whitewash the state and to betray the working class and the labouring people. The fact that shortly after the indictment of the Ergenekon trial has been accepted also the trial to close the AKP became clear, contributed to make the regime crisis a bit less intensive.
The trial to close down the AKP opened by the constitutional court ended with the decision of the court to not close the AKP. The AKP was charged with a warning charge and cutting a part of the public funds. The result of this two trials has the quality of a temporally compromise between the ruling classes. The danger for the bourgeoisie of having no government, what would have meant falling into an even deeper regime crisis and their game of "democracy" being in danger pushed the Turkish ruling classes to this reconciling result by means of the legal system. The fact, that there is no other fresh bourgeois party to replace the AKP, which could be presented to the people as an alternative, pushed them to this result. For among the existing bourgeois parties, nor the CHP neither the MHP is able to fill this emptiness or could be presented as an alternative. These realities had shown that it would be very difficult for the bourgeoisie to close down the AKP and that the trial probably would conclude with a compromise.
The imperialists of the USA and the EU have seen this government crisis, which could give way to a lack of stability, and also intervened, showing efforts to not close the AKP. Developments like the calls made in the press of the USA and the EU to not close the AKP, reminding that the negotiations to join the EU could be put in danger, the meetings and agreements made with the US imperialism in the near past, the meeting of Erdogan and Yasar Buyukanit in Dolmabahce, also the meeting of Erdogan with Ilker Basbug and the fact that Erdogan has shown a "reconciling" tendency in the newspaper Hurriyet have shown that it was highly probably that the AKP would not be closed.
On the other hand, the fact that one part of the sentence to not close the AKP is also to cut a part of the public funds and a warning charge gives the message to the AKP that from now on it will be also kept under control, that it has to act carefully and has to renounce from some initiatives and measures from the past.
Of course, the fact that the trials of Ergenekon and to close the AKP became clear and that a temporally compromise has been made in the historical settling the score in the arena of the bourgeois politics does not mean that the competition and the settling of the score between the ruling classes is finished. It is not clear how long this "compromise", in which the general staff and TUSIAD are integrated and which is made on the line of the US imperialism and which has the quality to continue with the AKP for now, will go on. We can expect from the AKP that in the time coming it will act in a more compromising way and thus try to make the crisis less intensive concerning some issues like the "change of the constitution", which it tried to make in the past and was not able to realize and that it will try to find compromises with the front of the generals concerning topics like the Kurdish question, Cyprus and relations with Armenia and that it will try to make a state policy in the framework outlined by the imperialist states.
