Students affiliated to the Socialist Youth Association of Istanbul made an action in front of Istanbul University on October 9 announcing that they will be among the intervenors of the trial of Ergenekon that will take place in Silivri on October 20. {divide}They opened a banner written "September 12=YÖK=Ergenekon. Students will intervene this trial". The young socialists drew attention to the fact that Kemal Alemdaroglu, former director of Istanbul University, was among those who will be judged at this trial and stressed that Alemdaroglu was responsible for the expulsion of hundreds of revolutionary, democrat and Kurdish patriotic students from the university for political reasons. They also told that the generals related with Ergenekon managed in many universities that their candidates were chosen as university directors and they expressed that Ergenekon and YOK are the twin sons of the military coup in September 12, 1980. They reminded the massacres of strudents by the counter-guerrila forces and they said: "We will be among the intervenors of this trial because the students have many things to ask account from the gangs and ganster directors".
