The democratic organisations organised a press meeting on the Ergenekon trial that starts on October 20 declaring that they will be in Silivre where the trial is going to take place. In the statement made in the name of the democratic organisations, among them DTP , SDP , IHD , ESP , ODP , gathering at IHD Istanbul branch on October 16 it was stressed that the indictment in this case is fake and that the Ergenekon gang is a counter-guerrilla organisation defended by the state. On the same day, the Socialist Platform of the Oppressed (ESP)announced in a press meeting at TMMOB Istanbul branch that they will intervene to the Ergenekon trial and also join the rally called "Neither Ergenekon nor AKP , the solution is the union of the workers and brotherhood of the peoples" organised on October 19 by different political parties, unions and democratic mass organisations at Iskele Square in Kadikoy, İstanbul. The ESP spokesman said in his statement that the indictment does not cover massacres such as Gazi , Semdinli and Sivas, forced disappearances` cases and the assassination of Hrant Dink. He said that this trial will be a fake one and called on everyone to observe the trial and be there for justice.
