In its 8th year of the massacre of December 19 , 2000 , revolutionary and democratic forces went on the streets condemning the massacre and demanding the conviction of the responsible powers.
The questions of the prisons, a place where the class struggle is very intensive, and the resistances at the prisons have a long history full with bloody massacres and glorious resistances and have an important place within the social struggle. The massacre on December 19, 2000, however, was one of the bloodiest prison massacres and at the same time became one of the most heroic resistances all over the world. The system of isolation that had been on the agenda of the Turkish state for a long time and the f type isolation prisons, which had been constructed with this aim, were introduced together with this massacre. In a bloody operation organised at the same time in 20 prisons in different cities on December 19, 2000, 28 revolutionary prisoners were killed, dozens of them were injured and the revolutionary prisoners were taken to the f type prisons. As an answer to the massacre, the revolutionary prisoners started to resist with the death fast that lasted for years, and showed once again that the revolutionary prisoners' will could neither be broken by massacres nor by isolation policies. In the massacre on December 19 and the death fast, 133 revolutionaries from 10 different revolutionary organisations became martyrs. Our party MLCP actively participated in the struggle against the f type isolation prisons. Our comrade Ozkan Tekin had been shot by the police while hanging up posters just before December 19, 2000, and our comrades Huseyin Kayaci and Tuncay Yildirim became martyrs in the death fast.
As every year, this year, too, masses gathered in front of the prisons where the massacres had taken place and the f type prisons where the revolutionary prisoners had been taken to in order to protest against the massacre. While at the actions, the attacks on the revolutionary prisoners that recently increased were also mentioned, the attack and torture of the MLCP prisoner Fehmi Capan and the DHKP-C prisoner Ileri Kizilaltun by soldiers on December 4 when they were taken to the hospital were protested, too.
In front of Sincan f type prison, Ankara, ESP , Alinteri, DHF , B DSP and Partizan said at the action: "Behind the prison walls, the prisoners once again wrote the manifest of revolutionary resistance and will. The state managed to introduce the f type prisons only by killing the revolutionaries. Their plans to break the revolutionary identity were crossed by the revolutionary resistance that has grown even more from that day on." Later on, the Human Right Association held an action, too.
In Izmir, lawyers affiliated to Contemporary Lawyers Association laid down carnations in front of Kiriklar f type prison. The lawyers drew attention to the recent increase of attacks on the revolutionary prisoners and demanded the conviction of those responsible. The families of TAYAD organised an action in front of Buca Prison, which was one of the targets of the massacre of December 19, 2000.
In Istanbul, the protests took place in front of the former Bayrampasa Prison where the massacre of December 19 had been realised in the bloodiest way possible.
At the actions, the following slogans were shouted: "Long live our resistance of December 19", "The revolutionary martyrs are immortal" and "Long live the revolutionary solidarity".
