After the action of the female students at Pamukkale University on January 13 protesting violence and rape, the women of EKD in Izmir started a vigil action on January 15 condemning the violence increasing against women. In a statement held in the name of the EKD at the action lasting three days, it was said that the women started this vigil for justice against the violence increasing against women. The women also emphasized that the system is defending men and shouted slogans such as "Women, the liberation is socialism" and "Stop sexual, national and class exploitation". Besides the action, the women have also started a campaign collecting signatures. At the action, the women carried the banner "We are in action protesting the violence against women".
