On May 5, MLCP and PKK militants realised a common action in the Istanbul borough Atasehir saluting the revolutionary martyrs of May by saluting Orhan Yilmazkaya, who showed a revolutionary resistance to the police attack on April 27 and clashed with the police for 6 hours before he became a martyr, and Deniz Gezmis. The militants opened the banner read "Orhan Yilmazkaya is alive, the martyrs of May from the mountains to the sea are immortal" during their 2 hours lasting action and fought against the police who tried to attack them. The police then had to withdraw. At the action, slogans were shouted such as "Long live our party MLCP", "Orhan Yilmazkaya is immortal", "A thousand greetings to the ones who fought and fell with their arms in their hands" and "Long live revolutionary solidarity".
