The Socialist Platform of the Oppressed made a written statement calling on the peoples of Turkey to show solidarity with the Tamil people. In its statement the ESP stressed that the Sri Lanka state is committing a crime against humanity and is continuing to kill the Tamil people regardless women or children saying the following: "We as the ESP call on our people, the progressive and revolutionary forces and the peoples of the world not to stay silent to this brutality, human crime and to the killing of civilians and the Tamil guerrillas in the Tamil country and to show their protest with actions. Tamil people are not alone."
