The colonialist Turkish regime has brutally massacred 17 revolutionaries of MKP (Maoist Communist Party) by warplanes, helicopters and thousands of soldiers in the Dersim-Ovacik area of Kurdistan. Our comrades-in-arms, the MKP's central committee members and cadres martyred as a result of the massacre that carried out with similar violence of the fascists seen in the history. These losses have given great pain to our party and to the revolutionary movement, but it also brought the development of a united struggle with class anger and commitment.

This attack is a physically annihilation attack against the revolutionary movement, as it also happened during the prison massacre from 19th December 2000. It is the expression of fear, panic and anxiety of the regime on the unification of working class and labouring masses with the revolutionary movement and the revolutionary vanguards. And this is the reason why there has been a new wave of developing strong and united protest and struggle against the massacre among the revolutionary movement of Turkey.

The fascist regime, which is depressed with internal and external issues such as the imperialist rivalry between the USA and EU, the IMF orders, the struggle of Kurdish national movement, the working class and labouring masses, reemploys unlimited counter-revolutionary violence, dirty and dark methods, and annihilation and denial politics.

The chauvinist and nationalist hysteria being developed against the Kurds during the 21 March Newroz (Kurdish national festival, means revival in spring) events, has turned into a lynch attempt against the Kurdish labouring women reading press statement on the streets, the members of IHD (Human Rights Association) marching for peace, the members of TAYAD (Association of Prisoners' Families) making statement on the isolation in prisons, leaders of the Tekstil-Sen (Textile Union) pointing out inequalities at the university test competition and the students struggling for a democratic university. All these civil fascist attacks are being organised and carried out under the sponsor and provocations of the state's secret organisations, plain-cloth policemen and spies.

Doubtlessly, all these developments spreading gradually are happening not by a chance. The Kurdish nation is insistently struggling against the colonialist regime's denial and annihilation policies and for its national and democratic rights. The working class and other oppressed social strata are continuing to organise actions against the offensive IMF programme on the streets, in their workplaces, suburbs and rural areas. Against the privatisation attacks, the SEKA, Seydisehir and Erdemir workers are preparing for a new struggles and occupation of workplaces with great determinacy. The youth, whose future is being darkened, does not accept its current situation and, therefore, continues to struggle for freedom, equality and justice. The increasing anti-imperialist struggle on the US aggression and the occupation of Iraq in Turkey disturbs the imperialist monopolies, NATO and the collaborator administrations of the region.

Under these conditions, where the danger of unification of all these social movements with the revolutionary vanguard exists and where the revolutionary movement reorganises and develops itself, the fascism attacks.

MLCP actively takes part in this struggle. Both, our Party's Central Committee and local committees called upon our party masses and on all workers and labourers to defend the values of our revolutionary, progressive comrades-in-arms from MKP, to organise common protests and resistances and to act with conscious to bring those responsible to account. It continues to show a practice in accordance with its call. The following statement of MLCP Istanbul Municipal Committee is a call to fight against the savageness.
