The military coup realised on June 28 at Honduras was protested on July 9 by the ESP in Istanbul. The ESP activists opened a banner read "From Turkey to Honduras, put an end to the coups. The putschists must be convicted" demanding the conviction of those responsible for the coup that had been realised together with the support of the USA.
At the action that took place at Taxim Tram Station, Istanbul, it was said that the coup realised under the leadership of the USA has showed that Obama didn't bring peace and freedom to the world as it had been promised. The ESP activists demanded the abolition of the temporary §15 of the constitution that was introduced to hinder the conviction of the putschists in Turkey and shouted the slogans "The putschists will render an account to the people" and "US imperialism, take your hands off Honduras".
