By making impossible the medical treatment of Guler Zere, revolutionary prisoners who suffers from cancer, the state condemns her to death. Guler Zere was kept in Elbistan Prison for many years and now she is waiting for a medical treatment. The Platform for the Freedom of Guler Zere that was formed to achieve the freedom and medical treatment of Zere tries to draw attention to this problem through various actions.{divide} DTP , KESK , ESP , IHD , SDP , SP, Amargi, DISK , People's Front, Emekli-Sen, PEN, ODP and TAYAD are among the members of the platform. The platform organised a march on July, 31 in Istiklal Street in Istanbul demanding immediate freedom for Zere and for all prisoners that suffer from medical diseases. Approximately 2000 people participated at the march. At the same time, an action was organised in from of the National Congress in Ankara for Zere.
Despite of the forensic report prepared by the Department of Forensic Medicine of Cukurova University which stresses that Guler Zere should be released; the 3rd Specialised Board of Forensic Medicine has decided that Zere will stay in the special medical department for prisoners. Nur Birgen, Head of the 3rd Specialised Board, is well known for her false reports that provided the release of many Ergenekon prisoners and the freedom for the accused policemen in many trials concerning torture under police custody.
On August 5, the Platform for the Freedom of Guler Zere made a press conference together with the family of Zere and announced that they will on permanent action in front of the Institute of Forensic Medicine beginning from August 10 until they achieve the freedom of Guler Zere. The slogan of the action is "Guler Zere is being killed; we will not permit that". Lawyer Behic Asci made a statement explaining the situation of Zere. He told that her state of health has become more critical since the last week and that she was able to be fed from the mouth before but now she is drip-fed due to ecchymose that appeared in her mouth. Asci stressed that the AKP government will be the responsible one if the state continues hinder the medical treatment of Zere.
