September 1, the International Day of Peace was celebrated in many cities of Turkey and Northern Kurdistan on the streets. In many cities, first of all in Amed and Istanbul, ten thousands raised their voices for peace and brotherhood and demanded a democratic solution in the Kurdish question. {divide}
Besides Amed and Istanbul, September 1, the International Day of Peace was celebrated in cities such as Hatay, Mersin, Hakkari, Bitlis, Manisa and Kayseri.
In Istanbul, more than 10,000 joined the rally organised by the Peace Platform for a Democratic Solution at Kadikoy Iskele Square, Istanbul. Nearly 50 organisations, unions, platforms etc., among them KESK Istanbul Branches' Platform, DTP , ESP , ODP , TMMOB and Egitim-Sen participated in the action, where different banners were hang up saying "The Turkish people must be addressed for a just, democratic, honourable peace in the Kurdish question" and "No to war, we demand a democratic solution on the Kurdish question". The masses wore traditional clothes and carried many different posters as well as shouted slogans such as "Long live the brotherhood of the people". By that, the masses again focused on their demand of a democratic solution. Our party MLCP's forces were also present at the rally and joined by shouting the slogan "Glory to the party MLCP".
The people of Amed started September 1, , the International Day of Peace by holding a vigil for peace at Sumerpark throughout the night. The vigil was joined by thousands, among them DTP deputies and DTP mayors, too. On September 1, hundreds thousand participated in the rally organised at Istasyon Square. The masses coming also from the neighbouring cities like Dersim, Siirt, Van, Hakkari said "The solution of the Kurdish question can't be postponed". The masses carried posters read "Our language is our right" and "For peace and brotherhood, a democratic solution to the Kurdish question". Our party activists were also present and shouted the slogans "Hope is standing tall in its 15th year" and "Long live our party MLCP".
