This is exactly the reason why the content of the talk on the "democratic initiative" that have been on the agenda for several months couldn't be filled with the minimum practice. The PKK 's answer to this period was to send peace groups to Turkey/ Northern Kurdistan from three different points: Kandil, Maxmur and Europe. With this policy that became firm with the call of the Kurdish national leader Abdullah Ocalan, the first group of 34 people, 8 from Kandil and 26 from Maxmur, entered the Turkish borders.

The discussions on a "democratic initiative" that have been in the centre of the political life for the last few months have entered a new period when the peace group of 34 people entering Northern Kurdistan on October 17 from the Habur border gate.
Since May, the representatives of the fascist dictatorship, first of all President Abdullah Gul, have talked on "the historical chance to solve the Kurdish question" and the period following was answered by the PKK this with a one-sided ceasefire. The statements on the historical chances were followed by statements of denial and annihilation made by the representatives of colonialism, among them the chief of general staff Ilker Basbug, and it became clear that Turkish colonial fascism, the initiative meant nothing else than appropriate conditions to come up to liquidate the PKK on the international and regional level and under the USA's hegemony.
The fact that the two parties of the colonial bourgeoisie have different opinions on the solution of the Kurdish question was a part of this scene. Although both parties totally agree and have the same will to solve the question on the basis of annihilation and denial, the AKP front has adopted the line to add only minimum steps to its solution plan such as the launch of Kurdish TV and the change of street names, as in the elections on March 29, with such action the AKP tries to become an alternative of the Kurdish people. The Turkish bourgeoisie is trying to have a united will among itself to play the role it was allotted in the plans on the region, that also cover the USA's liquidation of the Kurdish national movement on this basis, and to integrate in the plans of the region; and these efforts are reflected in the Ergenekon operations, there is still no united will. In addition, it is clear that with the "democratic initiative", both parties aim at the liquidation of the national liberation movement carried out by the Kurdish people led by the PKK.

With this policy that became firm with the call of the Kurdish national leader Abdullah Ocalan, the first group of 34 people, 8 from Kandil and 26 from Maxmur, entered the Turkish borders.
The expectation of the AKP government, of the representatives of Turkish colonial fascism, on the period of the peace groups were as following: declaring the groups as the "liquidation of the PKK" and "the guerrilla giving up its weapons and surrendering", to make use of this propaganda through the bourgeois media to strengthen its mass basis, and by that to force the Kurdish people to accept its will on the one hand, and to make it appear to the Kurdish people on the other hand as if it has made a progress in the "Kurdish initiative", and if necessary to convince the Turkish people on the policy of the "initiative".
The Kurdish people welcomed the peace groups with great enthusiasm. More than 100,000 people waited for the peace delegates for three days. The actions organised by the DTP were supported by the DTP MPS, too. In every city they went, the peace groups were saluted by 100,000s of people. They conveyed the Kurdish people's demand for peace to the commander centres of colonial fascism. Although being denied, the fact that the peace groups, following the call of the Kurdish national leader Ocalan and under the leadership of KCK , means in a way that the political will of the Kurdish people has won and this will had to be respected.
The peace groups and the Kurdish people welcoming them with hope and enthusiasm exposed all false news of the bourgeois media as well as the claim to be "terrorists that surrender". The peace groups entered the border with guerrilla clothes, and made their statements dressed like that. IN their statements made, they said that they won't make use of the law of regret, called "Law to Go Home", that they didn't come to surrender but to be the delegates of peace. By this, the Kurdish people raised its demand for an honourable and democratic peace and that it won't believe the liquidating peace talks of colonial fascism led by the AKP. Murat Karayilan, chairman of the KCK Executive Council, emphasized that he considers it as positive that the peace groups weren't imprisoned, but that wouldn't mean peace. Karayilan said: "We have made our initiative, now it's the government's turn." The Kurdish people's demand for peace have reached a level at which the promises given by the AKP government, that has continuously talked about the Kurdish initiative in the last months, will be tested.
When the efforts to show the peace groups as a process that developed with its own initiative became in vain, and the participants of the groups as well as the DTP authorities stressed that this period developed following the call of Ocalan, a serious cause of dyspepsia was created within the AKP government. The welcoming by the Kurdish people were announced as shows and the guerrilla making speeches dressed with military clothes were put on the agenda of the bourgeois media, and were made aims of the psychological wars. The 3rd group was hindered to set off from Europe. With its thread "Forget everything, we'll start from the beginning", the AKP started to make declarations that it's all going back to the beginning of the period.
While the AKP couldn't find what it was looking for, its effort to convince the army front and those groups among the Turkish workers and labourers being influenced by this front were in vain. These groups that resisted against the AKP's solution plan directed by the US exposed the AKP as "surrendering", and tried to organise the Turkish workers and labourers in favour of their racist, chauvinist politics.
When the Kurdish people raised its voice to reject a dishonourable peace and once again destroyed the liquidating plans of the USA, it strengthened the tendency of the USA to wheel in the direction of the status quo.
After all these developments, the Kurdish national leader Ocalan made a statement declared by his lawyers that the plan on "initiative" is in fact a plan to liquidate the PKK. He said that the peace groups exposed the dishonesty of the government, that they played their mission and that there won't be any peace groups coming any more.
The demand for peace becoming an important part of the Turkish workers and labourers' agenda, regardless the reactions, was an important result of the period. Our party MLCP has defended the Kurdish people's demand for peace and its actions during this period as it had done in the past. Our party has realised a policy on the basis of concrete steps such as especially making the Turkish workers and labourers become addressed by the Kurdish people's demand for peace and to liberate them from the influence of the chauvinist propaganda, mobilising the soldiers' families against the dirty war by stressing the fact that the Turkish soldiers, that are sent to war to kill their brothers and sisters of the Kurdish people, are the children of workers and labourers, mobilising the youth, too, to reject being the soldiers of colonialism and kill their brothers and sisters.
The period right now provides important opportunities from this point of view. The labourer solution on the Kurdish question foresees right now the unification of the national democratic demands of the Kurdish people with the Turkish workers and labourers' struggle for political freedom, and this is in fact one of the main topics of the revolution strategy in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan.
