The process of the "Kurdish Initiative" is advancing very fast towards the natural consequences of a solution of the Kurdish question on the base of the denial of a nation: Attacks, massacres and the provocation of a civil war!
This process of the "Kurdish Initiative" had started right after the big defeat of the Turkish bourgeoisie represented by the government of AKP in the local elections of March 2009 in the Kurdistan cities in favour of DTP and it had developed with the declarations of the foremost representatives of the Turkish bourgeois state stating that "2009 will be the year of historical opportunities concerning the Kurdish question".
The liquidationist plan of "the Initiative" has entered a new stage since November. The real face of this liquidationist plan of "the Initiative" that created great expectations among the bourgeois liberal circles and reformist forces has been seen once more together with the recent developments. Throughout the month of November, numerous attacks against local offices of DTP and lynching attempts occurred. In face of the changes made in the prison conditions of Kurdish national leader Abdullah Ocalan, the Kurdish people took to the streets. They made huge protests and demonstrations in many cities. The police attacked on the demonstrations; in Amed, a Kurdish patriot named Aydin Erdem turned into a martyr. The Kurdish people bid farewell to its martyr by increasing the serhildan s even more.
In this process, in which the Kurdish people was in serhildan everywhere, DTP as the legitimate representative of the Kurdish national movement in the parliament was closed down by the Constitutional Court. The MP-status of Ahmet Turk, co-president of DTP, and Aysel Tugluk, MP of DTP elected in Diyarbakir, was cancelled. 37 members of DTP were banned of involving in politics for 5 years. With this decision that was taken unanimously by the Constitutional Court, it was announced once more that there is no space for the Kurdish nation in the laws of the colonialist fascist Turkish bourgeois state. The MPs of DTP declared that they cannot stay in the National Congress in face of this situation and they decided on renouncing collectively. The decision of closing down DTP was taken under the direct approval of AKP government which is the representative of the project of "the Initiative". It was anticipated by the statement of the government's spokesman Cemil Cicek who had compared DTP with Herri Batasuna on December 9. Considering the statement of Cemil Cicek as an order, the Constitutional Court took this decision unanimously. The lynching attempts experienced in Izmir and Canakkale, Byramic directly in context with the provocations of the racist-fascist MHP have been a sign for the today's situation of civil war. In that region many lynching attempts happened during the last years. What happened in Izmir and Bayramic is not a coincidence but the product of racist campaigns having been organised deliberately for years. The campaign "Do not buy at Kurdish shops" in Izmir and the demonstration of thousands of people in Bayramic under the motto "Kurds shall leave the province" created impressions reminding of the pogroms against the Jewish. Stones have been thrown against the houses of Kurdish people, it was tried to break down their doors.
In the West there is no DTP office left, which has not been attacked with Molotov cocktails, stones and in some places with weapons in the last weeks.
Tens of thousands of Kurdish patriots also participated in the actions organised everywhere in response of the closure of DTP, the legal representative of the Kurdish people in the National Congress. The MPs of DTP were welcomed with mass demonstration in Amed, where they went to after they decided to renounce from National Congress.
Since November until now the police is attacking the demonstrations being organised all over Northern Kurdistan and opened fire against the people in some places. However, the attacks are not limited to the official security forces of the state. In Istanbul, Dolapdere the civil fascist mob attacked a street action in protest of the closure of DTP. This attack was also not limited to stones, truncheons, machetes and Kebab cutting knives; the racist-fascist MHP activists shot at the people. Those, who shot were released from police detention immediately on the next day meanwhile the Kurdish labourer who had been shot was imprisoned wounded.
The climax for the time being of the reactionary war provocation on the base of Turk-Kurd clashes and the attacks directed against the Kurdish nation is the racist-fascist massacre in Bulanik, Mus. On December 15, the shop of Turan Bilen, known as a fascist of MHP, who opened his shop under police protection became the target of the people closing the rolling shutters and taking to the streets protesting against the closure of DTP in Mus, a Kurdistan city. The "voluntary village guard" and shopkeeper Turan Bilen, known for his closeness to the JITEM with a family being responsible for attacks against DTP and PKK also in the past, opened fire at the people with a Kalashnikov assassinating two Kurdish patriots and wounding seven more with bullets.
The provocations of a civil war made by the bourgeois media continued also on this event. While the bourgeois media described it on the one hand as "reaction of the citizens" and "calm people from the neighbourhood whose lives and goods are in danger resort to weapons" that civil fascists of MHP opened fire at the people in Istanbul and Mus, on the other hand they called the protests against the removal from office as MPs of the elected representatives of the Kurdish people "separatist provocation".
It is a known truth that the fascist attacks of MHP and the police attacks against the demonstrations protesting against the closure of DTP are not a coincidence but an organised parallel. The lynching attempts starting in 2005 in Mersin by the state burning with its own hands a Turkish flag at the demonstration of Newroz, the national holiday of the Kurdish people, pointing at the Kurdish people as a target of the Turkish masses, are organised for years by the states. 1978 in Maras and on July 2, 1992 in Sivas dozens of Alevis have been killed in the reactionary civil war complots based on Alevi- Sunnite clashes enraging the masses with reactionary slogans. Countless examples of such massacre-type provocations of the counter-guerrilla have been experienced, first of all in Malatya, Corum and Istanbul, Gazi . In the last years it was specially organised and provoked that the Turkish workers and labourers, among whom chauvinist reaction gained a broad base in face of the Kurdish national awaking, are organised on the basis of street violence by MHP fascists-police alliance. Countless documents appeared concerning the fact that this is a part of the planned provocations and coup plans of the MGK Generals.
The recent events turned out to be a short summary of the "initiative" process of "plan for solution of the Kurdish question without PKK/ for the liquidation of PKK" of the Turkish colonialist fascist regime supported by the USA: the Turkish bourgeois state is imprisoning the leader of the Kurdish liberation struggle Abdullah Ocalan for years isolated at an island and despite some improvements being just for show of the prison conditions, the imprisonment of Ocalan is an important part of the negation of the political will of the Kurdish nation. Among the thousands of Kurdish freedom fighters being kept in prison are hundreds of children imprisoned because of having thrown stones at the police. A ban to make politics was put on the legal representatives in the National Congress elected by high numbers of votes by the Kurdish people. DTP; the legitimate representative of the Kurdish People has been closed. The police is attacking the demonstrations, opening fire at the people, assassinating them. Especially in the West lynching attempts are being organised. The military operations against the guerrilla are continuing in all its violence. Even if the Kurdish question was debated for the first time after 86 years in the National Congress due to the big pressure exerted by the Kurdish national liberation struggle, at the same time racist-fascist sayings approving the Dersim massacre were raised from there. The Kurds are not recognized by any law including the constitution.
After painful defeats the Turkish bourgeoisie understood dozens of times that it is incapable in defeating the just struggle of the Kurdish nation only by force of weapons and started the Initiative process accepted by the USA, which gives a lot of importance to the role of the Turkish state in the Middle East. However, it could not give it a concrete content for month. Even this initiative, which was planned to be put into practice without PKK and by giving very truncated crumbs by means of growing the mass base of AKP among the Kurdish nation was witnessed by big resistances from
the bourgeois front for which the army, MHP and CHP are making the colour-bearer, defending the traditional policy of negation and annihilation. The sayings about democracy and solution were always, every single moment, accompanied by imprisonments and military operations. The steps undertaken by the Kurdish people concerning peace were answered back with attacks and war. And due to the fact that the initiative process again is based on the negation of the existence of the Kurdish nation, it develops growing the lack of solution with civil war provocations being pregnant with very hard and painful developments for the Kurdish nation and the Turkish workers and labourers towards a ethnic war.
Our party MLCP supports the just demands of the Kurdish nation meanwhile it sees the solution of the Kurdish nation question in the unity of destiny and struggle of the Kurdish nation and the Turkish workers and labourers, which it expressed as "labouring solution". The Turkish bourgeois state and all colours of liberals, the USA, the EU and the other imperialist powers and all the reactionary states of the region are acting on the basis of negation of the Kurdish nation. However, the real interlocutor of the liberation struggle of the Kurdish nation are the Turkish workers and labourers. The way for the Turkish workers and labourers, who are poisoned with chauvinism and racism and even tried to be made a part of the attacks against the Kurdish brother people, in order to grow their struggle against the Turkish bourgeois state, leads past becoming conscious in the Kurdish question and to accept the existence of the Kurdish nation. Today, in a time where workers and labourers are dismissed because of the economic crisis and the politics of poverty and hunger are continuing the demand of "work" leads past the demand of "peace", the demand of "justice" leads past the demand "freedom". A front of "peace and brotherhood", which unites the struggle of the Turkish workers and labourers against the economic crisis and for trade-unionist and political freedoms with the demands of the Kurdish nation is the most necessary need in order to grow the struggle in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan.
However, meanwhile the Turkish workers and labourers are the most fundamental interlocutor on the road of the labouring solution and of the Kurdish nation, the world working class and the oppressed peoples are another interlocutor. Therefore, we are calling in this special period upon all progressive, anti-imperialist, revolutionary and communist forces to support the Kurdish national liberation struggle and to say stop to the policy of provocations of an ethnic war, bans, massacre and lynching of the Turkish bourgeois state. It is the duty of the working class and the oppressed peoples all over the world to take a stand in the Kurdish national question, which is one of the most rooted questions of the Middle East and to support the Kurdish national liberation movement, which is one of the biggest anti-imperialist-colonialist-antifascist resistances of the Middle East. We are calling upon all of you to take to the streets for the freedom of the Kurdish people, to siege the consulates of the Turkish bourgeois state, to strengthen the resistance of the Kurdish people with actions and demonstrations, to rain protest fax on the president of the Turkish Republic, the prime minister and the Constitutional Court, to initiate firming campaign in favour of the acceptance of the democratic demands of the Kurdish people and thus grow the solidarity in this period being full of dangers and pains in the region of Turkey and Northern Kurdistan.
