23 people who had lost their lives in the massacre in Gazi , Istanbul that was realised on March 12, 1995 were commemorated in the 15th year by the families, friends and progressive and revolutionary organisations. {divide}More than 1,000 people marched from Cem Evi to the Previous Police Station, and continued to Gazi cemetery. The march was organised by the 12th March Platform for Labour, Peace and Freedom. Throughout the march many slogans such as "Gazi will become a grave for fascism" and "Gazi, Sivas, Semdinli , the murderers are obvious" were shouted. At the very front the banner read " MIT - JITEM -Counter guerrilla must be dissolved, the offenders must be punished" was carried and among the platform that realised the march there were ESP , BDP , ODP , TOP, KOZ, SP, EMEP and SODAP . Nearly all shop owners in Gazi didn't open their shops on this day. At the cemetery the families held a speech explaining the juridical degree of the Gazi massacre and that the proceedings were transferred to Trabzon. The mother of our comrade and MLCP militant Hasan Ocak of the Gazi commanders, who was kidnapped straight after the massacre and whose body was found after 58 days at the cemetery for people without families by his family and friends due to their search, held a speech, too, saluting the friends of her son at the cemetery. The massacre of Gazi was also protested in different cities such as Izmir, Eskisehir and Antakya. In Antakya, the mass demanded the punishment of those responsible for the military coup on March 12. In Izmir, a torch demonstration was realised. At the march the mass carried a banner read "The offenders of Gazi is the counter guerilla state".
