Mayday was celebrated in different cities of Turkey and Northern Kurdistan, too. In Izmir, Mayday was celebrated by 10,000s of people. {divide}The masses went to Gundogdu Square from 3 different points and send greetings to the Mayday celebration at Taksim, Istanbul. The Kent A.S. workers who were dismissed by CHP council marched with their families and carried a banner read: "Hey CHP council, we haven't forgotten that you dismissed us on Mayday 2009. Follow the law and give us back our work". Besides DISK , there were KESK , Genel-Is and the Union Movement for Democracy formed by the political parties and organisations as well as Textil-Sen and TMMOB . The workers leading a struggle at TARIS, TEKEL and Yatagan Thermik Power Plant against privatisation marched in a common bloque.
In Ankara the masses, among them KESK, DISK, Memur-Sen, Hak-Is, Kamu-Sen as well as political parties such as SDP , ODP , ESP and BDP and democratic organisations, gathered in front of Ankara Train Station and marched towards Sihhiye Square. At the opening of the rally the speeches of the the 4 worker leaders were read which they made before they were hanged in Chicago in 1886.
In Antep the crowd gathered at 3 different points in the city and marched to Istasyon Square. In Mugla Mayday was celebrated for the first time after 5 years at the centre of Mugla. Mayday was enthusiatically celebrated by TTB , TMMOB, ESP, SDP and the unions affiliated to DISK and KESK. In Dersim 3,000 workers and labourers gathered in front of the council for Mayday. Besides KESK and DISK, there were BDP, PSAKD, ODP, ESP and Partizan joining the rally. In Batman the Mayday celebration was made regional and joined by 30,000 people. The rally was organised with the slogan "The people awaking with Newroz is marching to freedom with Mayday" and slogans for the brotherhood of the people were continually shouted. In Antakya some youth drew attention on them having hand cuffs and their mouths duct-taped with the slogan "Kurdish Initiative".
