The trial at the European Court of Human Rights about the executive editor of the newspaper Agos, Hrant Dink, who was assassinated in 2007 in the middle of the street, came to a conclusion. {divide}
The Armenian journalist Hrant Dink has been made a target by accusing him of violating paragraph 301 of the Turkish Penal Code and despite of reporting to the Gendarmerie and police that he has received threats he was not put under protection, which was an invitation for murder. After the murder, the state agents who ignored the complaints of Hrant Dink before were not touched at all, only the trigger man was sentenced.
The family Dink took both the case of Hrant Dink being sentenced because of violating the paragraph 301 (insult Turkishness) and the injustices following the murder to the European Court of Human Rights demanding that Turkey will be sentenced.
The European Court of Human Rights sentenced Turkey in the two separate trials. On September 14, the court decision will be announced to the public. According to the sentence, Turkey is sentenced because of violating the second paragraph (right to live) and the tenth paragraph (freedom of expression) of the European Agreement on Human Rights in the Dink trial.
The Dink family announced that they are determinant not to reconcile with the known racist attitude of the Turkish authorities towards the Armenian people in this trial.
