During the dam construction in Kozan district of Adana, the dam shutter exploded and 10 workers were caught and dragged away by the pressured water. The dead bodies of 2 workers have been found until now, while the others are still disappeared. {divide}
The workers of the construction inform that the explosion was caused of the existing cracks on the dam shutter and that the company already knew about the cracks. These cracks were covered with sandbags and the workers had to continue working under these unsafe conditions.
2 of the workers, Eyup Altinbas and Cumali Degirmenci were buried on February 26 in Kozan. The rescue groups are still searching for the other workers; however, there is no hope for reaching them alive.
Adana branches of the HDK , DISK , KESK and various political organisations protested the company with a demonstration at the Inonu Square in Adana City.
