On Sunday, March 4, hundrets of Turkish, Kurdish, Arab, Azerbaijani, Armenian, Adygea, Abkhazian, Georgian, Laz, and Circassian people of many organisations, among them the HDK , the Socialist Azerbaijanis, the journal Jineps (Dew in Circassian), the Georgian Cultural Centre, the Hamshen Association of Research an Culture, the Federation of Caucasian Associations and the Federation of the Kangal Associations, gathered at the Galatasaray Square in Taksim in order to protest against the racist meeting of last week.{divide} On February 26, thousands of racists, among the also minister of internal affairs Idris Naim Sahin, had gathered at the Taksim Square in Istanbul under the name of "protesting the Khocaly massacre" spilling chauvinism and racism.
Hundreds of people gave the message "long live the brotherhood of the peoples" and slogans like "we are all Armenians, we are all Hrant", "yours is hate, ours is humanity", "racism will not pass" were shouted frequently at the demonstration ending with a meeting at the Taksim Square. At the final meeting, speeches in Azerbaijani, Armenian, Zazaki, Adygea, Abkhazian, Laz, and Circassian were made underling each the brotherhood of the peoples.
Yasar Güven, member of the HDK and writer of the Circassian journal Jineps mentioned in his speech also the Roboski massacre, the marking of houses of Alevi people in Adiyaman, the sexual torture of children in the prison of Pozanti and said: "all these are the results of the same spirit. This is the manifestation of the politics to chose something by annihilation, negation and violence. The Khocaly meeting is a part of this whole thing."
