During the clashes at the Newroz celebrations in Istanbul, the police killed HaciZengin, BDP member and among the district leaders of BDP in Arnavutkoy, by throwing a gas bomb directly to his head.
His funeral in the Arnavutkoy Cemetery on March 19 was participated by thousands of people who gathered behind a banner read "Our martyr of Newroz, resistance and freedom HaciZengin is immortal!" and shouted out slogans like "The martyrs are immortal!" and "Erdogan, murderer!" They carried the flags of PKK and posters of Abdullah Ocalan, too.{divide}
BDP co-president GultenKisanak was also present at the funeral. She stated that they announce HaciZengin as the Martyr of the Newroz 2012.
Another Kurdish patriot, Abdullah Aspar was injured in the same way and he is still in the intensive care unit in Capa University Hospital.
Besides, a 15-year boy was stabbed by the fascists. It has been reported that he has received heavy blows on the head, too, and suffered serious blood-loss.
